But maybe you dont know what a cel is?
Cels (or celluloid) are paintings on transparent
plastic sheets used to create an animation. Each cel is one "frame".
They are filmed and then placed successively to give the illusion of a continuous
motion. So each cel is unique and hand painted. And that is why cels are prized
by anime fans.
